About AI Model Tier List
What We Do
AI Model Tier List is a community-driven ranking platform that evaluates and compares AI models across multiple categories. We aggregate ELO scores from Arena AI — where real users vote in blind comparisons — and present them in an easy-to-understand S/A/B/C/D tier system.
Our Tier System
Each model receives a tier based on its ELO score percentile:
S Tier — Top 5% of models
A Tier — Top 20% (5-20%)
B Tier — Top 50% (20-50%)
C Tier — Top 80% (50-80%)
D Tier — Bottom 20%
Categories
We track models across five categories: General (overall LLM quality), Coding (code generation & problem solving), Image Generation (text-to-image), Reasoning (math, logic & complex reasoning), and Creative Writing. Each model may rank differently across categories based on its strengths.
Data Updates
Rankings are updated weekly from Arena AI and OpenRouter APIs. New models are added automatically as they appear in the Arena leaderboard. The site is statically built and deployed fresh each week with the latest data.
Why We Built This
With hundreds of AI models available, choosing the right one is overwhelming. We built this site to provide a clear, unbiased view of model quality based on real user preferences rather than marketing claims. Our goal is to help developers, researchers, and AI enthusiasts make informed decisions.
